【摘要】:Artistshaveavailabletothemawidevarietyofartmaterialssuchasmarkers,coloredpencils,pastels,coloredinksandairbrushcolors.Manyofthesematerialsaremanufacturedfortemporaryartworkandmaycontainpigmentsanddyesthatfadeinarelativelyshorttime.Productlabelsandmanufacturers''literaturedonotalwayssupplytheinformationnecessarytodistinguishproductsthatarestabletolightfromthosethatarenot.Thispracticemakesitpossibleforanartisttocheckthelightfastnessofcoloringmaterialstobeusedinworksofart.Itmayalsobeusedtotestthelightfastnessofothertypesofcoloredmaterials.1.1Thispracticecoversamethodforexposingspecimensofcoloredartmaterialsindoorstosunlightcomingthroughaclosedwindow.AnycolorchangeiscomparedtofadinginaBlueWoolReferenceandexposedsimultaneously.1.2Thispracticeshallonlybeusedbyindividualstoselectmaterialswithsatisfactorylightfastnessfortheirownuseortoidentifymaterialsthatrequirespecialprotectionfromlight.Whentestinformationistobecommunicatedtoothers,TestMethodsD4303orPracticeD5383mustbeused.1.3Thispracticemaybeusedtoindicateartmaterialsthatwillchangecolorwithinafewmonthsoryearsinnormalindoorexposureandthosethatwillremainunchangedforaperiodofyears.Itisnotrigorousenoughtoverifythatmaterialswillremainunchangedformorethanfiftyyearsinahomeorofficeenvironment.Amajorconsiderationindevelopingthismethodwastokeepitsimpleandshortenoughtobeperformedwithoutinstrumentationinacomparativelyshortlengthoftime.1.4Thispracticeisnotsuitableforevaluatingthelightfastnessofmaterialswithahighoilcontentsuchasartists''oil,resin-oiloralkydpaints.1.5ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
